Megan Schittenhelm
Hi! I'm Megan Schittenhelm,
At the time of writing this bio, I am a student at Bowling Green State University in their flight
program. I'm a senior and will be graduating in December with a Bachelor's in Flight T echnology
and Operations and will have a minor in Airport Systems and Operations. I am currently waiting
on my stage check flight before being able to take my Commercial Multi-engine checkride!
I started flying at 17 years old, just after I graduated from high school, at a flight school in Ann
Arbor, Michigan. I was simultaneously finishing up my private pilot certificate during my first year at
university. I earned my certificate in August of 2022 and immediately started instrument training at
Bowling Green.
Over the next few months, I hope to have completed two checkrides, Commercial multi and single
engine. Once both of these checkrides are done, I will begin flight instructor training at Flight School
of Jackson; where I will be a flight instructor and build my hours before advancing my career to
either a regional airline or flying for a corporate company. In terms of long term goals, I want my
career to end up in Medical Aviation. Knowing in a few short years, I will be flying for a company,
transporting organs to save lives in my everyday motivation to not give up when training becomes
difficult or experience setbacks.
